On Tuesday evening, June 24, US Vice President Vance stirred controversy by raising his middle finger during a speech at a Republican dinner in Ohio. The gesture was aimed at protesters who had confronted him at the event, sparking heated debates across social media.
While addressing the audience, Vance criticized the protesters, referring to them with the derogatory term "pink-haired," often used to mock progressive Democrats.
"Trust me in Washington D.C. they have this thing, I think it means we're number one in Washington D.C., but all the pink-haired people throw up this sign, and that means we're number one, right? I chose to take that as that symbol in Washington," he said while holding up his middle finger.
The incident followed another controversial moment earlier on the same day when President Trump, before attending a NATO summit in the Netherlands, publicly criticized Iran and Israel for violating a ceasefire agreement, using profane language. Many online commenters compared the two incidents, with one remarking, "Trump swears in the morning, Vance flips the finger at night—what a disastrous day."
