Bronze artifact resembles Labubu, sparking viral debate: Who looks like whom? (DDN)

The trendy Labubu doll craze continues. Recently, a mainland netizen posted a post saying that he found a bronze exhibit from the Spring and Autumn Period in the Luoyang Museum, which looked very similar to Labubu. He took a photo and shared it on the social platform, which caused heated discussions.

The mainland netizen posted on the social platform that when he visited the Luoyang Museum, he accidentally found a bronze exhibit that looked very similar to Labubu. Not only did it have erect ears, but the overall outline was almost the same as Labubu's head shape. After the post was exposed, many netizens left comments: "Is this Labubu from 2,000 years ago?!", "Did Labubu travel through time and space?", "Who looks like who?", "Our ancestors understood the trend", "The bronzes from the Spring and Autumn Period are so trendy, I want to go and see them too."

The staff of the Exhibition Department of Luoyang Museum said on Tuesday that the exhibit is called "Bronze Dang Lu", which was unearthed in Runyang Square in Luoyang City. It can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC to 476 BC), and has a history of more than 2,000 years. It is now collected by the Luoyang Archaeological Research Institute and exhibited in the Luoyang Museum. It is currently displayed on the second floor of the museum and will be exhibited until August.

It is reported that the "Tong Dang Lu" was originally a decoration and protective device for the head of ancient horses. The "Lu" is often installed in the center of the horse's head. It has both defensive and aesthetic functions. It is a decorative accessory that only noble horses can have, highlighting the status and identity of the horse owner.
