According to CCTV, as of 8:30 a.m. local time on June 19, DNA matching has confirmed the identities of 210 victims from the deadly Air India crash, with 187 bodies already returned to their families. Gujarat state officials have also verified this information.

The crash occurred on the afternoon of June 12, when an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, en route from India to the UK, crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad Airport. The aircraft was carrying 242 people, with only one survivor. Including ground casualties, the total death toll stands at 279, marking the first fatal crash involving the Boeing 787 model.

On June 19, Air India issued a statement announcing that, starting June 20, the airline will reduce the number of international wide-body flights by 15%, a measure that will remain in effect until mid-July. The airline also confirmed that, as per the requirements of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), all its Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft are undergoing enhanced safety inspections.

Out of Air India's 33 Boeing 787 aircraft, 26 have completed inspections and resumed operations. The remaining aircraft will be inspected in the coming days. The statement further noted that Air India's international operations faced disruptions over the past six days due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, resulting in the cancellation of 83 international flights.
