According to a report by Reuters on June 16, France closed four Israeli company booths at the Paris Air Show. In response, the Israeli Ministry of Defense issued a strong criticism, calling the French move absurd and unprecedented.
The 55th Paris Air Show opened at Paris-Le Bourget Airport on Monday (June 16). France reportedly closed four major Israeli company booths at the Paris Air Show because Israeli companies refused to remove the offensive weapons on display. Sources revealed that the closure order came from French authorities.
The report said that the closed booths were set up by Elbit Systems, Rafael, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Uvision, and three smaller Israeli booths and the Israeli Ministry of Defense booth remained open.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense said that the action was secretly carried out at night after Israeli defense officials and companies completed the booth layout. The organizers of the exhibition erected black walls at the booth to separate the Israeli pavilion from other pavilions.
Israel's Ministry of Defense was outraged and said in a statement: This outrageous and unprecedented decision reeks of policy-driven and commercial considerations. They later said they were filing a lawsuit in court to protest the decision. The French prime minister's office has not yet responded to a request for comment.
