Lee Jae-myung, South Korea's new president, was briefed on Wednesday (June 4) by the country's top military commander after formally beginning his single five-year term.
Previously, South Korean media outlet Yonhap News published an intriguing article on June 3, titled "The realistic ISTJ in MBTI". The piece explores Lee's chances of winning the South Korean presidential election from an unconventional angle, highlighting his MBTI personality type and blood type.
According to the report, Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, has an MBTI personality type of ISTJ. This type is often described as a "realist who derives self-esteem from sincere actions." Publicly available information reveals that Lee's hobbies include playing Go, reading, fishing, hiking, and walking.
Interestingly, the article also points out that Lee's blood type is B, which he shares with four former South Korean presidents: Lee Myung-bak, Park Geun-hye, Moon Jae-in, and Yoon Suk-yeol. This connection has sparked discussions about his potential to follow in their footsteps.
Adding to his appeal, Lee is the first South Korean politician to surpass one million subscribers on YouTube, earning the platform's prestigious "Gold Play Button." As of late May, his channel had amassed 1.42 million subscribers. When asked what he would pursue if not politics, Lee has repeatedly said, "I'd love to be a travel YouTuber."
In contrast, another leading presidential candidate, Kim Moon-soo of the People Power Party, is an ENTJ according to his MBTI test results. Kim described himself as someone who "enjoys interacting with others, thrives in group settings, and values mutual trust." He emphasized his goal-oriented personality, saying, "I always strive to push through established plans and achieve my objectives."
