I once read an article that described society as having entered an "era of fast-moving consumer goods." In such an environment, people are confined to the immediate present, losing their foresight and becoming short-sighted and impatient, unable to settle down and focus on meaningful work.
Yet, in my eyes, the greatest value of a human life lies in creating something enduring. Thomas Edison has long passed away, but the world has not forgotten how he once illuminated it. Li Bai’s physical form has vanished, yet the verses of the "Poet Immortal" still resonate through the ages. While the present matters, without precipitation and tempering, even the most abundant results will ultimately prove as fleeting as an ephemeral bloom.
During my visit to Shenzhen, I encountered the innovative philosophies of companies like Tencent. Technologists have designed devices specifically to assist people with disabilities and have turned their attention to the living conditions of rural residents. In the realm of green development, Tencent has pledged to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. These innovations represent not just technological progress but also a profound embodiment of humanistic care and compassion.
At the same time, the essence of technological innovation is to propel human progress. I understand that most people tend to prefer a stable, unchanging life—this is the instinct of survival. But as humanity has advanced into the modern era, what we need is no longer just instinct but also higher-order thinking and the resolve to courageously confront real-world challenges. And GBA gave out its answer: Hetao.
In this fast-paced era, many chase short-term achievements but forget that true influence stems from contributions that transcend time. The reason great figures are considered great is precisely because their accomplishments were not just for momentary glory but to benefit society as a whole and drive human progress forward.
This philosophy aligns perfectly with today’s hottest topic: "sustainable development."
Respecting reality does not mean yielding to the trivialities of the present but rather discerning the problems within reality and striving to create solutions that transcend it. We must learn to find our own steadfastness amidst the ever-changing environment and pursue goals that can genuinely shape the future. Transcending reality, meanwhile, means viewing issues with a long-term perspective, daring to explore uncharted territories, and striving to create great achievements worthy of remembrance.
