The official TV drama cast of Harry Potter was announced on May 27, "Welcome Dominic McLaughlin to portray as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton to portray as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout to portray as Ron Weasley, joining HBO's original Harry Potter series." "Dear Mr. Potter, Miss Granger and Mr. Weasley: We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

For the casting of three people, HBO opened an open casting call last fall and received more than 30,000 applications, with about 32,000 children auditioning in Ireland and the U.K., according to the report.
As reported earlier, on April 14, HBO's Harry Potter has officially announced the cast of six major adult actors.
John Lithgow, a multiple Emmy and Golden Globe winner for 3rd Rock from the Sun and Dexter, is set to star as Dumbledore, the principal of Hogwarts.

Janet McTeer, a two-time Oscar nominee for Tumbleweeds and Albert Nobbs, will star as Professor McGonagall.

Paapa Essiedu, Emmy nominee for I May Destroy You, to star as Prof. Snape.

Nick Frost, who starred in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, will star as Hagrid.

Luke Thallon will play the role of Quirrell, while Paul Whitehouse is set to portray Argus Filch.

It is reported that Paul Whitehouse, who previously portrayed Sir Cadogan in the film adaptation of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," is now the only actor to have appeared in both the film series and the stage production of "Harry Potter."
The TV drama production of "Harry Potter" is scheduled to begin filming this summer and will premiere on the streaming platform Max next year. Rowling, the original novel author, will serve as an executive producer for the stage production, extensively involved in the writing and directing processes.
