
A fire broke out in a warehouse in Ha Tsuen, Hung Shui Kiu, Tin Shui Wai at 12:40 pm yesterday (May 27) and was upgraded to a No. 3 alarm at 1:33 pm. After firefighters fought the fire day and night, the fire was surrounded at 6.12 am today (May 28), brought under control at 8:28 am and was largely extinguished at 10 am, burning for more than 21 hours.

The Fire Services Department (FSD) said on social media platforms that a total of eight hoses and seven smoking hat teams were used to drench the fire. About 50 people evacuated to a safe place. Two people suffered discomfort during the fire and were sent to Tuen Mun Hospital and Tin Shui Wai Hospital for treatment.
At present, firemen are still shooting water at the scene to lower the fire temperature and prevent the fire from re-igniting. In addition, the Fire Investigation Group of the Fire Services Department (FSD) will also commence an investigation at the scene.
