
A three-alarm fire broke out at a warehouse in Ha Tsuen, Hung Shui Kiu, Tin Shui Wai yesterday (May 27). The Fire Services Department (FSD) (May 28) posted on social media platforms this morning that the fire was contained at 6:12 a.m., and fire-fighting work is still in progress.
The fire broke out at 12:40 pm yesterday and was upgraded to a No. 3 alarm at 1:33 pm. The fire scene, measuring 200 meters by 200 meters, involved five warehouses storing electrical appliances, clothing and miscellaneous goods, and some of the warehouses had collapsed, the FSD said. After risk assessment, it is necessary to lay more than 300 meters of water supply hose, so the fire alarm was upgraded to No. 3 in the afternoon, in order to deploy additional resources.

During the fire, 50 people evacuated themselves and 5 dogs were rescued, all of which were unharmed and were handed over to their owners. The ambulance said that a warehouse staff member's back and neck suffered second-degree burns, another firefighter suffered smoke inhalation, are awake and sent to the hospital.
