Ocean Park today (May 27) announced the new names of a pair of Hong Kong-born panda babies! The new name of the sister is "Jia Jia" and the new name of the younger brother is "De De".
The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law, said in her speech that the naming competition received more than 35,700 submissions, many of which were meaningful or full of children's fun, and full of blessings for the baby pandas.
Ocean Park said earlier that from now on, visitors to the "Giant Panda Adventure" pavilion to see a pair of Hong Kong-born pandas can queue up directly outside the pavilion without the need to collect a "time ticket" in advance.
In addition, the pandas and penguins have moved to the entrance area of the "Giant Panda Adventure", where Ying Ying's mother used to live. According to the park, the pandas are now more than 9 months old and weigh more than 21 kilograms. Although they still need to be breastfed or fed with formula milk, they have recently begun to mimic Ying Ying by trying to chew on bamboo leaves, but they have not yet succeeded in eating.
