Innovation and technology (I&T) have become increasingly hot topics in recent years. With its unique advantages—being "backed by the motherland and facing the world," a robust legal framework, and a thriving financial system—Hong Kong has made significant investments in I&T, achieving remarkable results that have garnered recognition globally.
From May 23 to 24, City University of Hong Kong (CityU) hosted the large-scale HK Tech 300 Expo on campus, where nearly 300 startups specializing in various tech fields showcased cutting-edge research achievements and innovative ideas.
Beyond entrepreneurs, the event also attracted professors of renowned universities from Brunei, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and other countries. Impressed by the expo's success, they shared their insights. This time, DotDotNews exclusively interviewed Dr. Hazri Kifle, President of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, and Professor Ege Yazgan, Rector of Istanbul Bilgi University.
In the interviews, they discussed the current state of I&T development in their countries, why they seek collaboration with CityU, and their perspectives on Hong Kong's I&T ecosystem. Let's hear what they have to say!
