According to the New York Times, protesters carrying signs with slogans such as " Fraud extravaganza," "Trump belongs in jail," "There are no kings," and "No one is above the law," gathered outside a golf course in Virginia on Thursday night local time to protest President Donald Trump's upcoming Memecoin ($TRUMP) dinner at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va.
According to CNN, guests at the dinner are expected to include Trump himself as well as 220 $TRUMP buyers, who have invested a total of about US$148 million in the fiat currency over a three-week period. Initially, the $TRUMP website said that the top 25 holders of the coins would be eligible for some of the privileged tours normally reserved for heads of state. The site later removed this statement, but still promised unspecified "special VIP tours".
