According to multiple media reports, renowned singer Justin Bieber is facing a financial crisis, reportedly owing millions of dollars to his former manager, Scooter Braun, with no means of repayment.
Insiders revealed that Bieber had already declared bankruptcy in 2022. His "Justice" world tour, originally scheduled for that year, was abruptly canceled. Bieber had received an advance payment of US$40 million (approximately HK$310 million) for the tour, but the cancellation resulted in a breach of contract, leaving him owing organizers US$24 million (approximately HK$180 million). Scooter Braun's company, Hybe, stepped in to cover the debt under an agreement that Bieber would repay it over the next decade. However, Bieber reportedly only made one installment before halting repayments.
Bieber's team later claimed that an audit revealed Scooter Braun had charged excessively high commissions, amounting to US$26 million (approximately HK$203 million). However, an internal audit by Hybe found that Braun had undercharged and that Bieber still owed him US$1 million (approximately HK$7.81 million). A subsequent independent third-party investigation concluded that Bieber's actual debt to Braun totaled approximately US$8.806 million (approximately HK$68.77 million).
In February this year, Bieber was spotted in New York, and eyewitnesses described his mental state as concerning. In videos circulating online, Bieber appeared emaciated and haggard. Medical professionals speculated that his recent physical changes might be linked to his ongoing health issues.
Back in June 2022, Bieber revealed on social media that he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which caused partial facial paralysis. He explained that the condition, brought on by a viral infection affecting his ear and facial nerves, rendered him unable to smile, blink, or even move his nostrils. As a result, he had to cancel several dates on his world tour.

Born on March 1, 1994, in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, Justin Bieber rose to fame with his hit single Baby, which earned him the Best New Artist award at the 27th MTV Music Awards. His song Love Yourself also nominated for Song of the Year at the 59th Grammy Awards.
