American singer Taylor Swift's concert film "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" took the top spot at the North American box office with a massive estimated three-day cume of 96 million US dollars, data from the measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday (Oct. 15).
The film now become the highest-grossing concert film of all time in North America, surpassing the 73 million that Justin Bieber's 2011 release "Never Say Never."
The movie, which is being distributed by AMC Entertainment, chronicles the pop star's current sixth headline tour, the Eras Tour. In a recent Facebook post, Swift stated that "the Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far."
Universal and Blumhouse's horror film "The Exorcist: Believer," a direct sequel to 1973's "The Exorcist," came in second on its second weekend with 11 million dollars, pushing its North American total to US$44.9 million.
Rounding out the Top 3, Paramount's animated family film "PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie" took in 7 million dollars on its third weekend for a North American total of 49.9 million dollars.
