The Art Promotion Office and the Shenzhen Fringe Art Center have launched the first thematic exhibition, "Ink Impressions and Silk Inspirations," as part of the "Ink Art Ensembles" series in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Currently on display at the Guangming Culture and Art Center in Shenzhen, the exhibition features ink artworks by Hong Kong artist Raymond Fung and fashion designs by Shenzhen artist Xing Lili, showcasing a cross-media artistic dialogue. Admission is free, and the exhibition runs until June 9.
The "Ink Art Ensembles" series, organized by the Art Promotion Office and the Shenzhen Fringe Art Center, features five exhibitions across four GBA cities: Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, and Dongguan. The series highlights ink art as a primary medium for Hong Kong artists, with responses from other GBA artists, fostering in-depth artistic dialogue and contemporary experimentation.
Raymond Fung's works, including "Five Ridges" and "Dynasties," blend spatial aesthetics with ink art, reflecting China's majestic landscapes and his philosophy. His "Thousands of Words" series uses barcodes and seals to symbolize his connection to his homeland. Fung also addresses ecological concerns through his "Breathing" and "Life" series, highlighting environmental changes.
Xing Lili aims to promote the national intangible cultural heritage of Xiangyun Sha dyeing. Her fashion collections, such as "Dynasties," combine traditional silk with contemporary design, inspired by Fung's ink painting aesthetics.
The exhibition also includes two short films: "Qi Shi," reflecting on Fung's artistic journey, and a documentary on Xiangyun Sha craftsmanship.
Located at the 5F Exhibition Hall C of the Guangming Culture and Art Center, the exhibition is part of the Chinese Culture Promotion Series by LCSD, which promotes Chinese history and culture through various programs.
