
The funeral committee of the late Henderson Land Group founder Lee Shau-kee held a group public funeral service at the Hong Kong Funeral Home this morning (April 28), with the mass burial conducted in a Buddhist ceremony.
Leung Chun-ying, Vice Chairman of CPPCC, Eric Chan Kwok-ki, Chief Secretary for Administration, Paul Chan, Financial Secretary, Andrew Leung Kwan-yin, President of the Legislative Council and Regina IP Lau Suk-yee, Convenor of the Executive Council, were present to bid a final farewell.



A number of other political and business celebrities were present to bid farewell, including Wang Huizhen, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Connie Wong Wai-ching, Hong Kong Deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) and President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Nancy Chu Ip Yuk-yu, Legislative Council member Michael Tien Puk-sun, David Li Kwok-po, Executive Chairman of The Bank of East Asia (BEA), and Alex Yeung Ching-loong, Vice Chairman of Emperor Group.




The family members of Lee Shau-kee's two sons, Peter Lee Ka-kit and Martin Lee Ka-shing, were present to receive the memorial service, while Lee Shau-kee's body will be buried at his place of origin, Daliang, Shunde, the city of Foshan, Guangdong province.
At the same time, a large tent memorial area has been set up at the Hong Kong Funeral Home. When there is a public funeral service or the funeral hall is overcrowded, staff will accompany people who come to pay tribute to Lee Shau-kee to this area.
