US President Donald Trump made a series of statements regarding the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, asserting that both Russia and Ukraine are willing to achieve peace and must engage in negotiations.

"I hope we're gonna get there for the sake of a lot of young people that are dying," Trump said. "I have my own deadline. I have my own deadline, and we want it to be fast." He also warns that the US's stance could shift if no agreement is reached by then.

Despite this, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of President Vladimir Putin, denied knowledge of any such deadline. On April 23, Peskov commented that setting an ultimatum for a ceasefire is inappropriate and does not align with Russia's perspective on the matter.

Trump expressed dissatisfaction with Russia's attacks on Kyiv, reiterating US efforts to collaborate with Ukraine to resolve the conflict. When asked about the possibility of further sanctions against Russia, Trump stated that "things will happen" if negotiations fail.

Addressing the contentious issue of territorial concessions, Trump remarked that any decision on this matter would depend on which territories are being discussed.

Furthermore, Trump noted that Russia is not the primary obstacle to peace, emphasizing that the US is exerting significant pressure on both sides to advance the peace process.
