The Hong Kong Theatres Association is holding its "Hong Kong Cinema Day" for the third year in a row, offering incredible discounts to encourage audiences to experience various film formats and promote cinema attendance. Association members and event ambassador Michelle Wai attended a press conference today (April 24) to announce the event details.

This year's "Hong Kong Cinema Day" will take place on May 10 (Saturday), with all 53 participating cinemas offering tickets at a flat rate of HK$30 for the entire day. Senior citizens will enjoy the same ticket price for the first screening if it is below HK$30. Over 100 films are expected to be screened.

Tickets for "Hong Kong Cinema Day" will go on sale after 12 pm on May 7. Each person can purchase a maximum of 4 tickets at the cinema box office, while online purchases will follow the respective cinema chain's ticketing restrictions.

The event is funded by the Film Development Fund and the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency, and it is part of the "Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival 2025." Over the past two years, "Hong Kong Cinema Day" has received enthusiastic support from the public, attracting more than 200,000 attendees each year and setting multiple attendance records. The Association hopes that Hong Kong citizens will continue to support the initiative and enjoy movies this year.
