U.S. President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariff policy has impacted the world. At the beginning of this policy announcement, Trump insisted on social media, "China also wants to make a deal, badly, but they don't know how to get it started. We are waiting for their call. It will happen!"
It turns out that "waiting for China's call for peace" was just Trump's wishful thinking. On the 22nd, local time, Trump admitted that a 145% tariff is too high and proactively stated that he would significantly reduce tariffs on China. Trump also mentioned that he would not take a hardline approach against China to reach an agreement. He described that both sides must, and will ultimately, be able to reach an agreement.
