According to CCTV News, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge's Zhuhai Port has recently seen a surge in cross-boundary travelers and shoppers from Hong Kong and Macao, with peak traffic levels recorded during the holiday period.
From April 17 to 21, the overlap of public holidays in Hong Kong and Macao with weekends in the mainland led to unprecedented cross-boundary vehicle flows at the port. Daily inbound traffic exceeded the peak levels of this year's Qingming Festival holiday. Data from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Customs shows that 117,000 vehicles passed through the port during this period, a 60.71% year-on-year increase. On April 17 alone, inbound vehicles hit a record high of 14,500, up 141.67% compared to the same period last year.

To enhance cross-boundary consumption, the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Commerce has implemented measures such as subsidies for Hong Kong and Macao residents participating in home appliance"trade-in" programs. At a shopping mall in Jinwan District, over 1,000 vehicles from Hong Kong and Macao were recorded.
Mr. Luo, a staff member at a retail store, stated, "Many Hong Kong and Macao residents come here to shop. They can use their Mainland Travel Permits to claim subsidies through the 'Yue Huan Xin' mini-program, leading to a significant increase in our store's revenue recently."
Bao Lishan, Director of the Market Development Division of the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Commerce, highlighted efforts to promote convenient payment methods for visitors: "We conduct campaigns in major commercial areas to ensure seamless spending experiences for Hong Kong and Macao residents, and foreign tourists can participate in trade-in activities by presenting valid identification, enjoying the same subsidies as mainland residents."
