At the 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in Guangzhou, more than 200,000 overseas buyers from 215 countries and regions gathered in search of new business opportunities. Amid rising tensions in the U.S.-China tariff dispute, many international buyers expressed confidence in the continued vibrancy of markets outside the United States. China remains their key manufacturing partner, and the Canton Fair is still a vital hub for sourcing and collaboration.
From Egypt to Hong Kong to the United States, buyers shared diverse perspectives on how they are adapting to shifting global trade dynamics. While some acknowledged the challenges posed by tariffs, most remained optimistic about China's evolving role in the global supply chain — not just as a manufacturer but increasingly as a provider of industrial capacity and technology.
