
The Dominican government reported that over 300 rescue workers have been working tirelessly to clear debris and search for survivors in the aftermath of the tragedy. However, after 48 hours of intensive efforts, hopes of finding more survivors have dimmed. The operation will now shift to its second phase-recovering all victims. Once completed, authorities will launch a full investigation to determine the cause of the collapse following official procedures.
The nightclub, a popular venue for concerts in Santo Domingo, was hosting a live music event when the roof caved in around 1 am local time on April 8. Dominican President Luis Abinader declared three days of national mourning starting to honor the victims.
