
The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar confirmed that as of 11:00 Beijing time (0300 GMT) on Friday (April 4), the powerful earthquake in Myanmar has resulted in the deaths of five Chinese citizens and injuries to 13 others.
The death toll from the 7.9-magnitude earthquake has risen to 3,145, with 4,589 others injured and 221 missing, the Myanmar Radio and Television reported on Thursday.
Mandalay in central Myanmar has been the hardest hit region with 2,053 people killed, 2,691 others injuried and 210 people still missing as of Thursday, state-run daily Myanma Alinn reported on Friday.
Meanwhile, the country's capital Nay Pyi Taw recorded 511 deaths, 842 injuries, and nine missing, followed by Sagaing region with 471 deaths, 688 injuries and 2 missing, it added.
