Police recently arrested two local men at the International Finance Center (IFC) mall in Central, suspected of unauthorized use of other people's credit cards to purchase Apple products. 6 credit cards and 65 debit cards were found on them when they were arrested, and 64 credit cards, 10 Hong Kong and Macao Travel Permits, as well as a large number of electronic products were found in the vehicle. The amount involved is about HK$150,000. Two men aged 32 and 28 are being detained and the case is still under investigation.
Police said the two arrested men, both reported as students, are aged 32 and 28 respectively.
The Central Police District has taken over the case. Initially, it cannot be ruled out that some people have obtained credit card information through illegal means and then made purchases. The police urge members of the public to pay attention to their bills and transaction records when using credit cards and to report suspicious transactions to the police in a timely manner.
