
Photos and videos of students in school uniforms smoking have gone viral online, showing them allegedly using electronic cigarettes and cigarettes containing substances like "space oil" in toilet stalls and stairwells.
One video features a female student with a bottle of liquor next to her. The school involved, Leung Sing Tak College in Tsuen Wan, has stated that it is taking the situation seriously and will conduct a thorough investigation. The Education Bureau has expressed significant concern regarding the incident.
In one clip, two male students are seen exhaling smoke in a toilet stall, with one remarking, "It doesn't matter! Many people know, even Sir Yip." Additional images circulating online show a female student smoking in a stairwell, holding a lighter and an unlit cigarette, with a bottle of Korean liquor beside her.
In response to media inquiries, Leung Sing Tak College confirmed it is aware of the photos and videos and has begun an investigation. The school emphasized that it would take serious action and provide counseling for the students involved. They expressed the hope that students will adhere to laws and regulations, committing to teaching in a safe and peaceful environment.
The Education Bureau stated it closely monitors the situation and contacted the school immediately after learning of the incident. The bureau noted that the school is looking into the matter and will follow up according to its internal guidance mechanisms, offering appropriate advice and support.
