According to CCTV News, following a devastating earthquake in central Myanmar, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar announced the successful deployment of the DeepSeek multilingual translation system. This innovative system, capable of translating Chinese, Burmese, and English, was rapidly developed in just seven hours to overcome communication challenges during international disaster relief efforts.
The DeepSeek system, designed by the Secretariat of the National Language Service Corps in collaboration with Beijing Language and Culture University, has already been used by over 700 individuals in Myanmar since its launch. It is playing a crucial role in facilitating communication between rescue teams, local authorities, and affected communities.
The "National Language Service Corps" is a public welfare organization guided by China's Ministry of Education, the National Language Commission, and the Ministry of Emergency Management. Its primary mission is to address language barriers in various public emergencies and critical national operations.
The team provides essential language services in areas such as Chinese dialects, minority languages, sign language, braille, and foreign languages.
