
A cold weather warning is in force, with temperatures dropping to 12 degrees or below in many parts of Hong Kong this morning (March 30), and even at midday the temperature in various districts is still about 3 degrees lower than yesterday (March 29).
The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has lowered the minimum temperature forecast for tomorrow (March 31) to 13 degrees, and the temperature forecast for Tuesday (April 1) has been lowered to 14 to 19 degrees from the previous forecast of 16 to 21 degrees.、
The Observatory said that the northeast monsoon is bringing cold weather to the Guangdong coast. In addition, a broad band of clouds is covering southern China and a few millimeters of rain were recorded in Hong Kong this morning. The Observatory expects the weather to be cold tonight, and the temperature to remain low in the morning and cold in the New Territories in the next couple of days. Temperatures will pick up in the middle to late part of this week, with generally sunny and dry days and warm weather.
According to the latest nine-day weather forecast by the HKO, the temperature in the urban area tomorrow will be as low as 13 degrees, with one or two showers in the morning and evening. Tuesday will be generally cloudy with a low of 14 degrees, with one or two light showers in the morning and quite cool, with brief periods of sunshine in the afternoon. Temperatures will pick up in the middle to late part of the week, with a high of 25 degrees in the city on Ching Ming Festival (April 4), with warmer and drier days.
