Forbes and Bloomberg Billionaires Index both show that Zhang Yiming, the founder of ByteDance, has become China's richest man, topping the list of China's richest people, according to mainland media reports.
Forbes estimates that Zhang is worth US$65.5 billion, ranking 23rd on the global rich list, while Ma Huateng and Zhong Shanshan are 27th and 28th on the list with US$53.5 billion and US$53.1 billion respectively.
The Bloomberg Billionaires Index estimates that Zhang Yiming is worth US$57.5 billion, ranking 24th on the global rich list, while Ma Huateng and Zhong Shanshan rank 25th and 26th.
