The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025 will take place in Hainan from March 25 to 28, with the theme "Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future."
The conference will focus on four key areas, including building an open world economy, strengthening global governance post-United Nations summit, and enhancing civilizational dialogue.
Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council, is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the conference on March 27 and deliver a keynote speech.
The conference released an annual report on Asia's economic outlook and integration process, noting that the global economy is experiencing moderate growth while facing major risks such as trade wars, complex geopolitical situations, sustained inflation, and slowing growth in major economies. Despite increasing uncertainties in global economic growth, Asia is expected to remain a key engine for the world economy, with an anticipated weighted real GDP growth rate of 4.5% this year, slightly higher than last year's 4.4%. China's economy is projected to grow by 5%, providing strong support for growth in East Asia.
The report indicates a generally positive trend in employment and income in Asia, with inflation levels continuing to decline. While trade and investment may face overall pressure, digital trade and service trade are expected to be standout highlights in Asia's economic landscape.
Additionally, financial markets are anticipated to remain stable, with most economies expected to increase fiscal expansion and maintain accommodative monetary policies.
