
Police said, today (March 20) at 1:53 am, they received a security report, No. 14, Kwai Yi Road, Kwai Chung, a unit of smoke, suspected fire. Fire responded to the scene, broke into the door and put out the fire. A 55-year-old female resident surnamed Lee inhaled smoke discomfort, was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital with semi-consciousness, and later regained consciousness.
After a preliminary investigation, the fire department believes that the fire was caused by overheating of electronic products in the flat, but there is no evidence at this stage to suggest that the case involves a criminal element. About 30 people evacuated themselves to a safe location during the incident.
According to our understanding, the fire department found that the electronic products in the house, including several cell phones and iPads, were burnt, and it is believed that some of the electronic products were overheated and caused the fire.
