Nestled along the banks of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, the Guangdong Museum is more than just a building—it's a gateway to understanding China's dynamic southern frontier. With more than 320,000 collections, this museum seamlessly blends history, art, and technology, offering visitors a journey to the Lingnan civilization.

A Building That Tells a Story

The design of the museum was inspired by an antique Chinese artifact, the lacquer box, while the spatial design of the museum was inspired by the ivory puzzle ball. The ivory puzzle ball is characterized by a stack of intricately carved ivory with a hollow center, similar to an onion. This fascinating design itself is considered a cultural icon.
