South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has come under fire after admitting to a past romantic relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron, who was underage at the time.
The controversy has drawn significant public scrutiny, leading to a tarnished public image for the actor. On March 17, MBC confirmed its decision to cut Kim Soo-hyun's screen time in the variety program "Good Day" to mitigate further backlash.
According to Yonhap News, MBC issued a statement highlighting the seriousness of the controversy and its commitment to closely monitor audience feedback. The network emphasized that the decision to reduce Kim's exposure was made to avoid potential misunderstandings about the show's content and to maintain viewer trust.
The report noted that in Episode 5 of "Good Day," which aired on March 16, most of Kim Soo-hyun's scenes were removed, with his appearances limited to group shots.
Kim had also participated in filming on March 13. MBC stated that they are awaiting an official response from Kim's management agency before making any further decisions regarding his involvement in the show.
