"Ne Zha 2" has become the highest-grossing film in China's box office history and one of the top five in the global box office. The Chief Executive, John Lee, said in a post on social media platforms today (March 16) that he and his wife went to the cinema to watch the film after its release in Hong Kong, and the audience was not only filled with laughter and joy, but also many touching "tearful moments", especially in the scene in which Mrs. Yin, after being pierced by thousands of arrows, carries Ne Zha in her arms, which shows the power of a mother's love that is touching, and is also similar to the selfless love that great mothers have for their children.
According to Lee, the movie fully demonstrates the rapid development of China's animation production technology and standard, and allows the world to experience the charm of Chinese culture and Chinese stories. The movie also has another attraction, "the soundtrack is composed by young musicians from Hong Kong, who use cymbals and electric guitars to add a 'Hong Kong style' to the movie, creating an audio-visual feast that combines the best of the East and the West."
Lee said the animation's powerful lines and Ne Zha's fearlessness in the face of adversity made people's blood boil, just like Hong Kong's vigorous reforms in recent years, which have led to the completion of long-pending problems one after another. "My team and I are also fearless in tackling problems one by one, demonstrating a breakthrough mentality, and the spirit of Ne Zha has inspired us to continue to overcome obstacles."
Lee added that after watching the movie, he was reminded of Hong Kong's excellent film and television cultural industry and its deep heritage. Last year's Hong Kong films "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" and "The Last Dance" were big hits, both of which started out from Hong Kong and then set foot in the Mainland and overseas markets. He hopes that in the future, more Hong Kong films will go out into the world to convey Hong Kong's unique characteristics and charms.
