The term "embodied intelligence" has made its debut in this year's government work report, referring to intelligent entities with physical bodies. On March 11, Dobot Robotics launched the world's first "dexterous manipulation + bipedal walking" humanoid robot, capable of performing complex tasks across different scenarios through multi-robot collaboration.
Following the announcement, the company's stock surged over 40% in early trading, reaching HK$49.5 with a trading volume of HK$558 million.
The robot, named Dobot Atom, is designed for industrial-grade precision operations and features a self-developed neuro-driven dexterous manipulation system (NDS) along with a bipedal walking system (AWS). This innovation aims to advance embodied intelligence technology into diverse fields such as industry and services.
What happens when an intelligent entity possesses a physical body? In simple terms, it can perceive its environment and interact with it through its body or sensors. For example, while AI can offer comfort through words when a user is sad, embodied intelligence can provide a warm hug. This revolutionary technology is rapidly being implemented in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
