Every March, Wuhan, known as China's "City of Cherry Blossoms," attracts a surge of tourists eager to witness the breathtaking bloom of Sakura.
According to Chinese media reports, airfare to many cities is exceptionally affordable this year, with base ticket prices as low as 200 RMB (excluding taxes and fuel surcharges) between the mainland cities.
The cherry blossom fever has fueled a significant increase in travel demand. Data from major travel platforms show that searches for "flower viewing trips" have doubled in the past week. In contrast, bookings for scenic attractions under the "flower viewing and spring outings" category have increased by 35% compared to the previous week.
The data also indicates that tourists from cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Tianjin, Chongqing, Wuhan, and Hangzhou are particularly interested in flower-viewing tours. Among those booking cherry blossom trips, young travelers born in the 1980s and 1990s account for nearly 55%, demonstrating their strong enthusiasm for "cherry blossom chasing" journeys.
