China's robotics industry is rapidly advancing, highlighted by UBTech's recent achievement of conducting collaborative training for multiple humanoid robots at Zeekr's 5G-enabled smart factory. This milestone paves the way for developing humanoid robot "workforce" solutions for multitasking industrial environments.
UBTech's project features the world's first multimodal inference model for humanoid robots, enabling human-like reasoning for task decomposition, optimized scheduling, and efficient collaboration.
Additionally, researchers from the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and Shanghai Jiao Tong University have developed an algorithm that allows humanoid robots to autonomously regain an upright position on various terrains. Shenzhen's Zhongqing Robotics Technology also made headlines by enabling its humanoid robot to perform a forward somersault.
As of December 2024, China has 451,700 intelligent robotics enterprises, with a total registered capital of RMB 6.44 trillion. The number of robot-related companies has surged over 206% since 2020, reflecting strong growth in the sector.
With its robust industrial ecosystem and rapid technological advancements, China is poised to establish humanoid robotics as a competitive industry, akin to its drone sector.
