On March 4, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce stated China's additional lawsuit against the US at the World Trade Organization (WTO) over the recent imposition of a 10% tariff.
On March 3, US Eastern Time, the US announced an additional 10% tariff on certain Chinese products, building on the existing 10% tariffs. In response, China has filed a complaint under the WTO's dispute resolution mechanism, asserting that the US unilateral tariff measures severely violate WTO rules and undermine the foundation of economic cooperation between the two countries.
China expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to these actions. The spokesperson emphasized China's commitment to safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests following WTO regulations, while also defending the multilateral trading system and international economic order.
