Humanity is entering a new wave of technological revolution. Recent significant breakthroughs include China's Chang'e 6 successfully obtaining the first lunar far side soil samples, the DeepSeek model joining the ranks of top global AI, and advancements in humanoid robot technology positioning China among the world's leaders. As the Two Sessions convenes, the integrated development of education, technology, and talent has become an unprecedented national focus.

As a journalist, I had the privilege of asking a question at the first press conference of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, directed at spokesperson Liu Jieyi. I raised the critical issue of the integrated development of education, technology, and talent.

Liu's response was detailed and insightful, noting that many members of the CPPCC are leading figures in education and technological innovation. They aspire to be "great teachers" of the new era, tackling core technologies, increasing research investments, and fostering an environment that values education, science, and talent.

This response echoes the enduring question posed by Qian Xuesen, which has resonated within China's scientific and educational circles. In 2005, from his sickbed, Qian candidly asked then-Premier Wen Jiabao why Chinese universities struggle to cultivate top innovative talents, attributing it to a lack of breakthrough talent training models. This century-old inquiry continues to challenge the doors of reform in education, technology, and talent in China.

In the two decades since, a new generation of Chinese tech workers has begun to address this question. The DeepSeek development team, primarily composed of domestically trained young scholars, broke away from the Western approach of "piling up computing power and hardware" in AI development. Wang Xingxing, founder of Unitree Robotics, without overseas experience, has pioneered a new path in embodied intelligent robotics. These examples signify that China is building a unique talent cultivation system that supports its researchers in reaching new heights in technological innovation.

"Technological innovation relies on talent, and talent cultivation relies on education," Liu stated. Currently, China's education, technology, and talent are deeply integrated, establishing the world's largest education system and accelerating the fusion of education, talent, and innovation chains.

From a historical perspective, China's technological innovation is undergoing a profound transformation from "catching up" to "leading." As highlighted in the report from the 20th CPC National Congress, education, technology, and talent are foundational and strategic supports for building a modern socialist country. In this relay race concerning national rejuvenation, the new generation of tech workers has taken up the historical torch, writing the answers to the "Qian Xuesen's question" in this new era.
