Taiwan singer David Tao, after 17 years of absence from the Hong Kong Coliseum stage, held his SOUL POWER II World Tour Concert in Hong Kong for two consecutive days starting from last night (March 1), and the first show yesterday was packed to the rafters.
The concert was designed with a three-sided stage, and David Tao interacted with his fans from all directions, from time to time coming to the front of the auditorium to chat with his fans, shake hands, sing along, and the atmosphere was hot! Whenever he performed a song, he even said "Hong Kong" in English, which was very popular among Hong Kong fans.
When David Tao sang the classic song "Reimagined", he suddenly quieted down, became serious and sorrowful, choking up and said: "Just today (March 1), we learned of an excellent musician, left us - Khalil Fong Tai-tung. He said solemnly, "We will miss you forever. I believe that for many people, this is very sad news". Tao also mentioned that the two musicians on stage, Fergus Chou and guitarist Zhang Deming, had worked with Khalil Fong for many years. He said that although he didn't know Khalil very well, Khalil's music has always given him strength, warmth and emotion.
He also asked the audience, "Can you allow me, and us, to pay tribute to Khalil Fong and express our thoughts about him? Thank you for bringing us so much warmth, so much love. Thank you." After that, he sang Khalil Fong's masterpiece "This Love".
