Frenchman Marcus Detrez found 622 photos in his grandfather's album which showcase the evidence of the wartime atrocities committed by Japanese soldiers during China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45).

Detrez, accompanied by two friends, arrived in Beijing last week to donate the photos to China.

Since Feb. 25, some self-media found through reverse image search that a large number of images in the so-called "grandfather shot" photos were actually historical archives made public on the Internet.

Ifeng contacted the Shanghai Songhu Memorial Hall for the war of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in this regard, the other party did not respond to whether or not they had noticed the queries, but said that they were in the process of identifying the photos and that the results had not yet been released.
