The annual 'Arts March' in Hong Kong is about to take place. The West Kowloon Cultural District announced today (Feb. 27) that the M+ Museum will open its standard admission exhibition on March 9 free of charge, and visitors do not need to make reservations in advance.
M+ will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on March 9. Visitors can freely explore all the exhibitions covered by the standard admission ticket without the need for prior reservations. The exhibitions covered by the standard admission ticket include 'M+ Sigg Collection: Another Story', 'Things, Spaces, Interactions', 'Making It Matters', 'Shanshui: Echoes and Signals', 'Yasumasa Morimura and Cindy Sherman: Masquerades', and 'Yang Jiechang: Hundred Layers of Ink'. The exhibition 'Lee Mingwei: Guernica in Sand' and 'Danh Vo in Situ: Akari by Noguchi' in the B2 Level Underground, and the Multimedia Centre on the LG Level will also be open for free as usual. Visitors can also enjoy free screenings at the Multimedia Centre and the Art Park on the same day.
On March 9, visitors who wish to enter M+ for free can do so through the entrance at the Art Park, as some of the museum's entrances will be closed. To enhance visitor's experience, depending on the situation of the day, the museum will restrict the number of people entering. Visitors may need to queue outside the entrance according to the instructions of the staff. M+ will cut the queue at 4:00 PM to ensure that visitors entering have enough time to explore the museum.
M+ members, patrons (and members of higher tiers), along with their guests, as well as ticket holders or visitors who are planning to purchase tickets on-site to visit the special exhibition 'Guo Pei: Fashioning Imagination', can queue for entry at the entrance of the Art Park. Visitors holding tickets for the special exhibition on that day can freely visit the M+ Lounge located on the 11th floor of the museum, which is usually reserved for M+ members and patrons on weekdays.
