Promotion of Cultural and Creative Sectors:
The Government is dedicated to advancing cultural and creative industries, having approved over 780 projects under the CreateSmart Initiative, with a funding total of approximately HK$3.4 billion, benefiting over 30,000 SMEs. Efforts are being made to attract cultural and creative enterprises that integrate innovation and technology.
Large-scale Art Events:
The inaugural Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo took place last October, featuring over 1,600 arts leaders from more than 60 countries. A second edition is planned for next year, aiming to establish it as a flagship event for Hong Kong's arts and cultural industries. The Government will continue to support international art events through the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund, enhancing tourism and economic benefits.
Film Industry Development:
The Government has approved over HK$1.3 billion via the Film Development Fund for more than 120 film projects, involving over 110 new directors and producers. These films have collectively won over 180 awards. Additionally, a Film Financing Scheme for the Mainland Market has been launched to promote collaboration between Hong Kong and Mainland cultural enterprises.
Support for Cultural Intellectual Property:
The Government aims to support cultural IP creators and producers in developing over 30 cultural IP projects over the next five years. Initiatives will focus on fostering cross-sector collaboration to enhance the communication and sales value of cultural IP products.
These initiatives reflect the Government's dedication to establishing Hong Kong as a vibrant hub for cultural and creative industries, promoting economic growth and cultural exchange in the region.
