The animated film has received overwhelming praise following its release in Hong Kong and Macao, with many Taiwanese netizens calling for its screening on the island.
Zhu compared the enthusiasm for "Ne zha 2" to the popularity of Taiwan's Electric-Techno Neon Gods, emphasizing that the Taiwanese audience's desire to watch the film is a natural reflection of cultural appreciation. She highlighted that since its release, the movie has been widely recognized for its innovative interpretation of traditional Chinese culture, captivating storyline, and stunning animation effects.
Zhu further noted that many Taiwanese viewers had already seen the film in mainland China and that over 400,000 comments from Taiwanese netizens had urged its theatrical release in Taiwan. She hoped that Taiwanese authorities would listen to public demand and allow more high-quality mainland films to enter Taiwan's cinemas, fostering greater cultural exchange and appreciation.
The strong public reaction underscores the growing demand for mainland Chinese films in Taiwan as audiences seek greater accessibility to culturally and artistically acclaimed productions.
