At least two people, including a minor, were killed, and 20 others were injured when the roof of a food court at a shopping mall in Trujillo, Peru, suddenly collapsed, according to reports from CCTV News.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, police officers, and medical teams, rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations. The injured individuals have been transported to various medical institutions for treatment.
The Peruvian Ministry of Health confirmed that all injured victims are receiving medical attention, but the full extent of casualties is still being assessed.
The shopping mall where the incident occurred had recently completed safety renovations on Jan. 5, reopening to the public the following day. Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the collapse.
