A birthday celebration turned into a terrifying ordeal for Vietnamese girl Giang Pham when a hydrogen-filled balloon exploded after coming into contact with a candle.

The sudden fire erupted violently, reaching the ceiling of the restaurant where the party was held. The accident left Giang Pham injured, with her face covered in bandages. On Feb. 20, six days after the incident, she posted a video on social media to warn others about the dangers of using hydrogen balloons.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Feb. 14 in Hanoi, where Giang Pham hosted her birthday party at a restaurant decorated with numerous balloons. She was holding a birthday cake in one hand and a hydrogen balloon in the other while preparing to blow out the candles.

As the balloons floated closer to the lit candles, one of them exploded, causing a massive fire that quickly spread to the ceiling. Startled and injured, Giang Pham covered her face and moved away from the flames.

In her Facebook post, Giang Pham shared a video of the incident along with photos of her injuries, urging people to be cautious.

It's been six days, and I've finally calmed down enough to post this video. I hope it serves as a warning to others to avoid such accidents, she said. She explained that the balloons contained highly compressed hydrogen gas, which is extremely flammable. "As you can see from the details, the fire surged very high, even reaching the ceiling," she added.

Reflecting on the aftermath, Giang Pham admitted she was overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty. "I cried all day because I didn't know how facial burns would affect my life and work," she said. Fortunately, doctors assured her that her injuries would fully heal without leaving scars. However, her skin will take months to regain its original color.
