The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law, met with the media this afternoon (Feb. 20) to discuss the opening ceremony and ticket arrangements for the Kai Tak Sports Park.
Law also stated that the opening ceremony will feature a strong lineup of performances, with a star-studded attendance of athletes.
Among the local elite athletes will be Vivian Kong, badminton mixed doubles pair Tang Chun-man and Tse Ying-suet, Hong Kong's top female table tennis player Doo Hoi-kem, and young talents like Zhu Chengzhu and Baldwin Chan Ho-wah. Notable national athletes include Olympic gold medalist in men's singles table tennis Fan Zhendong, as well as the badminton legendary Lin Dan.
Celebrity appearances will include Donnie Yen, Loletta Chu, George Lam, Sally Yeh, Frances Yip, Joey Yung, Gin Lee, Michael Cheung, Li Yuchun, and Zhang Jie, among others.
