On Feb. 18, the World Integrated Circuit Association (WICA) published its 2025 outlook report, highlighting key trends in the semiconductor industry. The report indicates that by early 2025, innovative architectures and data processing methods will drive large models into the next phase.
The advantages of new data processing paradigms will become increasingly apparent, continuing to promote the development of computing and storage capabilities.
Emerging applications such as AI PCs, AI smartphones, and AI headphones are expected to see large-scale adoption, becoming new growth drivers for the semiconductor market. The global semiconductor market size is projected to reach US$718.9 billion in 2025, representing a year-on-year growth of 13.2%.
WICA also forecasts that the competition between the United States and China in the field of artificial intelligence will persist, further boosting semiconductor market applications. Additionally, the semiconductor market in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe is expected to grow due to market recovery and stimulation from emerging markets.
