
An explosion occurred this morning at a department store in the city of Taichung in central Taiwan, resulting in multiple casualties, including two Macao residents who succumbed to their injuries. The Hong Kong Immigration Department confirmed that, as of this afternoon, no HK residents have sought assistance related to the incident.
A spokesperson for the Immigration Department stated that, upon learning of the explosion, they immediately contacted the Travel Industry Authority and the Travel Industry Council to gather information. So far, no requests for assistance from HK residents have been received.
The department assured that it will maintain close communication with the Travel Industry Authority and the Travel Industry Council, closely monitoring developments in the situation.
