A tragic accident occurred at Scottsdale Airport on Feb. 10 at approximately 2:45 p.m. local time when two private aircraft collided on the runway. The collision resulted in at least one fatality and three injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that a Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and collided with a parked Gulfstream G200 nearby.

Scottsdale Fire Department officials confirmed that one person was pronounced dead, while three others were transported to the hospital. Additionally, one individual remains trapped inside the wreckage.

The accident has led to the temporary closure of Scottsdale Airport's runway. Authorities have not announced when normal operations will resume.

This incident adds to a troubling series of aviation accidents in the US over the past two weeks. On Jan. 29, a collision between an American Airlines aircraft and a US military Black Hawk helicopter in Washington resulted in 67 fatalities. On Jan. 31, a medical transport plane crashed in Philadelphia, killing six passengers and one individual on the ground. Most recently, on Feb. 7, a small Bering Air plane crashed in Alaska, leaving 10 dead.
