The US Postal Service (USPS) said on Tuesday (Feb. 4, local time) it was temporarily suspending inbound parcels from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, shortly after President Donald Trump imposed fresh tariffs targeting Beijing.
The halt will take place "until further notice," and follows Trump's order for an additional 10 percent levy on Chinese imports starting Tuesday alongside an elimination of a duty-free exemption for low value packages.
The change, effective from February 4, will not impact the flow of letters and "flats" from China, according to the USPS website.
